Capital Improvements

The One Heartland Center in Willow River, Minnesota is beautiful, but there is still plenty of work to be done. Funding toward capital improvements helps us to better serve our kids. You can help by underwriting the cost of expanding and improving our facility.

For instance, campers are not able to swim in the lake up at camp. This is because the lake contains certain bacteria that may be harmful to children with compromised immune systems. Thanks to donors like the Argosy Foundation, Direct Supply, Robert & Jenny Hillis, and Viking Pools we have just opened a pool on camp and are able to provide swimming for our campers.

• Winterizing the remaining cabins for year-round use

• Building a shaded activities pavilion

• Building additional meeting space and administrative offices

• Building staff housing for year-round use
